FootballJose Mourinho Snubbed Manchester United Players in His Best XI From Teams He Has Coached
- There is no place for Ghana's Michael Essien and Manchester United players in Jose Mourinho’s all-time best XI
- The Portuguese manager remains the last manager to win a trophy at Old Trafford although he seemingly doesn't rate the players he had there too highly
- Jose Mourinho has managed teams such as FC Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur and is currently with Italian club AS Roma
AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho has named his all-time dream starting XI players he has coached and the list features some big names.
However, there was no place for any Manchester United player, in a report on Manchester Evening News.
The Portuguese gaffer had a torrid spell at Old Trafford but even then he clinched three trophies that have turned out to be the last three trophies the Red Devils have won.
Mourinho worked with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic but none of them did enough to make it into his list, as he named his all-time starting line-up back in 2020, as quoted by Mirror Sports.
The 57-year-old enjoyed two memorable stints at Stamford Bridge, winning three Premier League titles.
And this could be his reason for choosing Chelsea legend Petr Cech in goal while also picking more Chelsea icons - John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho as his central defenders.
In his midfield, Mourinho chose Claude Makelele as his defensive midfielder, while picking Mesut Ozil and Chelsea present manager Frank Lampard as his attacking midfielders.
Mourinho’s attack wasn’t much of a surprise as he chose Real Madrid star Eden Hazard, Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo and Chelsea great Didier Drogba as his attackers.
