Kelechi Nwakali may have left SD Huesca in controversial circumstances, but the Nigerian midfielder is still attached to the club’s supporters.
The Super Eagles star had his contract terminated by the Spanish second division team after returning late from the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria.
Nwakali has now taken to social media to say his farewell to SD Huesca supporters, whom he acknowledged had made him feel welcome at the Spanish club.
“I never really got a chance to say goodbye to the fans that supported me throughout my time at Huesca I wanted to say, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate all the love and support you all showed me.

Kelechi Nwakali, who is now a free agent, will seek to get a new club when the summer transfer window opens at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Kelechi Nwakali might be clubless at the moment following SD Heusca’s decision to relieve him of his contract with the Spanish side.
According to Goal, Nwakali had hit out at the club for their cruel treatment of him before they ended his contract as he claimed that Huesca refused to pay his wages while his mother took ill.
The midfielder had revealed that Huesca had tried to prevent him from representing Nigeria at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations after he was called up to play for Nigeria.

Kelechi Nwakali's contract with SD Huesca was initially expected to the expire at the end of ongoing season in Europe before the Spanish second division side made the decision on Tuesday, 5 March.
The club made the announcement with the photo of the Nigerian player posted on their official Twitter account.
