Bernard Tekpetey has been named the Bulgarian First League player of the month for April after his good run of games.

The Ludogorets forward netted five goals and provided four assists as the Bulgarian giants successfully defended their title.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian beat competition from CSKA's Ivaylo Chochev and teammate Igor Plastun to win the award.

The former Schalke O4 attacker netted five goals and provided four assists in four games in the month of April.

Bernard Tekpetey has been a key member of the Greens since making a permanent switch to the Bulgarian side last summer.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that red-hot Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey scored twice and provided an incredible assist as Ludogorets run riot over Slavia Sofia in the Bulgarian First League.

The 24-year-old scored a goal apiece in each half, before setting up Mattias Tissera's goal as the Bulgarian giants secured a 4-1 victory with four games remaining in the campaign.
