Soon-to-be Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger has heaped praise on Karim Benzema, who has had a stellar campaign this season.
Rudiger, who is on his way out of Chelsea at the end of the season, took time to eulogize Benzema for carrying Real Madrid since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Benzema, who is the bookmakers' favourite to win the Ballon d'Or, has bagged an eyewatering 44 goals while pushing Madrid to La Liga success and the finals of the UEFA Champions League.
Ahead of his move to the Los Blancos, the hard-tackling German guardsman could not hide his admiration of the red-hot Benzema.
"How long has he been at Madrid now, 12 years? That says it all." Rudiger told DAZN as quoted by GOAL.
"He also had lows and times when he really wanted to leave, but he stayed and it shows how strong his character is."
"Also the thing with the French national team: He is no longer called up and meanwhile wins four Champions League titles. Chapeau what he achieves!"
