Former Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari has revealed that his career at AC Milan took off after Asamoah Gyan prophesized into his time with the Italian giants.

The Hearts of Oak star disclosed he was crestfallen at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012 because of poor form and was worried it will hamper his AC Milan career.

However, in Asamoah Gyan's book, LeGyandary, the 2010 UEFA Champions League winner spoke about how the legendary forward sparked him to life during the tough times.

"Asamoah Gyan is part of my success story. He is a teammate and a good friend. My fondest memory of Asamoah Gyan was in Gabon 2012," he said as quoted by Ghanaweb.com.

"I could not play my best at the tournament despite my best efforts. Around that time I had signed a contract with AC Milan. One night Asamoah Gyan walked up to me and said, everybody knows you are not having a good game here but where you get to AC Milan you will a lot of goals.

"To my surprise his words came to pass. I have kept these words to my heart till date."

Asamoah Gyan and Sulley Muntari played together at three World Cups and two Africa Cup of Nations.

These days Gyan is unattached while Sulley Muntari plays for Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Oak.
