Impressive Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has officially signed a four-year contract to join Spanish club Real Madrid after completing his medical on Tuesday.
The German centre-back whose contract at the Stamford Bridge ends in June has sealed a move to join Los Blancos through his agents and is expected to arrive at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on a free transfer.
Marca understands that Rudiger’s move to the La Liga outfit is not yet official as the club is expected to make an announcement after the Champions League final on May 28.
An announcement is expected to be made the following week after the game in Paris before the player joins his national teammates as they prepare for the Nations League.
Earlier reports had it that Rudiger already reached an agreement with Real Madrid and the few details were finalised on Tuesday, GOAL reports.
Real Madrid were earlier forced to distance themselves from the German international due to his staggering wage demands, but they were able to negotiate after the centre-back relented on his salary demands and a deal was reached.
With Rudiger and Militao as centre-backs, David Alaba can also play at left-back, a position he already occupied at Bayern Munich.
