Lionel Messi is giving Ghanaian football legend Asamoah Gyan his flowers following his exploits in football.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner described Asamoah Gyan as a great goal scorer, describing his strike against Germany at the 2014 World Cup as one of his favourites from the Ghanaian.
The Argentina and PSG star, in an interview with 90MinuteExtra, lavished praises on the 36-year-old, who recently launched his memoir.
"I like his hard work and dedication to his national team and clubs." Messi said as quoted by Ghanaweb.
"I watched him play several times and I really like his goal against Germany at the World Cup in 2014.
"I might say he is one of the greatest goal scorers I have ever seen."
Asamoah Gyan is Ghana's all-time leading scorer with 51 goals from 109 international appearances and remains Africa's top scorer at the FIFA World Cup.
The former Stade Rennais and Sunderland star is yet to announce his retirement despite being inactive for over a year after leaving Ghana Premier League side Legon Cities.
