Former Moroka Swallows and SuperSport United striker James Chamanga is proving to be evergreen in the late stages of his footballing career.
The 42-year-old Zambian striker has made it clear that he will not call time on his career any time soon. He recently helped Zambia Super League team Red Arrows clinch the league title, booking a spot in next season's CAF Champions League.
Judging by his comments to Zambian media, that is a competition he intends to take part in. According to Kick Off, he said:

“I’m not going to play 90 minutes in all games, but more importantly is to be with them on the field of play and in training and teach them discipline.”
Pan African Football reported that Chamanga was the league's golden boot winner in the 2019/20 Zambia Super League season with 16 goals.
A winner of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations with Chipolopolo in Gabon, Chamanga is remembered by South African football fans for scoring five goals in a match against Platinum Stars in 2007, which Swallows won 6-2. That flurry of goals was enough for him to win the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot in the 2007/08 Castle Premiership season with 14 goals.

As reported by Sports Brief, the Namibian has scored 22 times this season in the league and is three goals away from equalling the Premier Soccer League record of 25 set by Zambian Collins Mbesuma in the 2004/05 campaign.
Only three other players, Siyabonga Nomvethe (20 goals during the 2011/12 season), Pollen Ndlanya (21 in 1998/99) and Wilfred Mugeyi (22 in 1996/97) have breached the 20-goal mark in the PSL era.
