Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has envisaged continental glory should Asamoah Gyan join the Porcupine Warriors.
Nana Yaw reckons the experience and predatory instincts of Gyan fused with the current playing body of the club could lead to a CAF Champions League charge for the Reds.
The one-time GFA presidential aspirant opened up on attempts made by his outfit to ensure Gyan is added to the roster of the club.
“Everybody knows how I have been waiting for him, I tried once but it was difficult to get him. We will keep trying and when he is ready, he knows that the doors will be open” Nana Yaw said as quoted by Football Ghana.
He continued: “Imagine Kotoko going for Champions League and we have Asamoah Gyan in our squad and he leading the attack with Mbella and Mfegue on either side of him that is the Champions League trophy right there”
“So, I am really looking to that day, I keep telling you that if even it is going to be just one match, he should make us proud” Nan Yaw ended.
Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan, Ghana's leading all-time top scorer with 51 goals, had earlier disclosed his desire to fulfil a boyhood ambition of playing for Asante Kotoko before he hangs his football boots.
The Porcupine Warriors are currently leading the Ghana Premier League table with 55 points after 27 games played.
