FootballYaya Toure Inspired 'African Shamans' Responsible for Guardiola’s Champions League Failure Again
- Pep Guardiola saw his Manchester City side get knocked out of the Champions League in an astonishing fashion, and a prediction by Yaya Toure’s agent has been brought to the fore
- City were cruising to victory at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium before Rodrigo scored two late goals to restore parity.
- Karim Benzema netted the winner as Carlo Ancelotti’s men won the tie 6-5 on aggregate to cruise to the final
In one of the most dramatic nights in Champions League football, Real Madrid came from behind to knock Manchester City out of the competition in what could be a boomerang.
Marca reports that Yaya Toure’s agent Dmitri Seluk had, in 2018, predicted that Spanish manager Pep Guardiola would not win the prestigious title again courtesy of ‘African Shamans’.
The manager had won the title twice during his time at Barcelona, but he has struggled to win the competition since he left the Catalan giants.
In 2016, Pep was poached by Manchester City owners as they were desperate to win the title (by all means) but he has failed again even after six years.
City blew up their chance of reaching this year's Champions League final letting Rodrigo grab two goals in two minutes as Real Madrid came from behind to win 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu as Karim Benzema slotted home the winner.
Having won the first leg 4-3 at the Etihad Stadium last week, and with their current ruthless form, many had tipped Pep Guardiola’s side to go all the way to the final.
However, it was not meant to be as Carlo Ancelotti’s men put up an emphatic display to eventually win 6-5 on aggregates as Guardiola once again failed in his quest for another Champions League title for City.
Why Pep won't win UCL again according to Toure's agent
In 2018, Yaya Toure's agent Dmitri Seluk claimed African Shamans won’t allow Guardiola to win the Champions League again.

FootballThe manager had benched Yaya Toure in the player’s final year at the Etihad Stadium and Seluk stated that the decision will boomerang.
Seluk said as per SPORTbible:
"He [Guardiola] turned all Africa against himself, many African fans turned away from Manchester City.
"And I'm sure that many African shamans in the future will not allow Guardiola to win the Champions League.
"This will be for Guardiola an African curse. Life will show whether I am right or not."
Liverpool’s Salah wants Real Madrid in UCL final
Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has revealed that he prefers to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final to Manchester City.
The Egyptian King was influential for the Reds in their 3-2 away win over Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica Stadium on Tuesday night.
Salah provided an assist for Brazilian midfielder Fabinho as they staged a comeback to qualify for the final on a 5-2 aggregate.
