Liverpool will now face either La Liga winners Real Madrid or current Premier League leaders Manchester City in the final on May 28 in Paris, France.

The two European powerhouses played out a thrilling first leg at the Etihad last week, with Pep Guardiola's side recording a 4-3 victory heading to the return fixture at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.

And ahead of the game, Salah told BT Sports that he is hoping to avoid Manchester City in the final.

"It's great to be in the final for the third time in five years," he said.
"I want to play Real Madrid, I have to be honest. "Hopefully we'll win it from them as well."

Real Madrid defeated Liverpool 3-1 to win their 13th UEFA Champions League title in 2018, thanks to a brace from Gareth Bale and a Karim Benzema strike.

Salah was famously injured by Sergio Ramos in the game after he dislocated his shoulder following a poor challenge.

Sadio Mane Equals Frank Lampard’s Record With Strike Against Villareal

Sports Brief earlier reported that Sadio Mane was on the scoresheet once again against Villareal on Tuesday night to equal Frank Lampard for most goals in the Champions League knockout stages.

Liverpool came back from two goals down from half time to thump the Spanish side 3-2 at the Estadio de la Ceramica to book their place in the final on 5-2 aggregate.

Mane’s strike in the 74th minute was his 15th goal in the knockout stages of the competition.
