According to a report via Daily Mail, fans have now taken to social media to mock the Villarreal goalkeeper following his poor performance against Liverpool.

Another fan described Geronimo Rulli as Liverpool’s man of the match.

The Villareal goalkeeper was also taunted by another fan who believes his teammates will not be happy with him.

Rulli was held culpable for Liverpool’s first goal after he allowed Fabinho's shot role through his legs just 17 minutes after the break and was also to blame for Sadio Mane’s goal after rushing out of his goalpost.

Klopp reveals strategy for victory against Villareal

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp says his players were themselves in the second half after staging a remarkable comeback to defeat Villareal Daily Post reports.

Villareal had taken a shock 2-0 lead but quickfire goals from Fabinho, Luis Diaz, and Sadio Mane in the second half ensured the Reds pulled through on the night.

Liverpool has now qualified for their 3rd UEFA Champions League final in 5 seasons and awaits either Manchester City or Real Madrid in the final.

The embarrassing record set by Villarreal goalkeeper

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Villarreal goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli had a night to forget in his side’s 3-2 loss to Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

Liverpool came back from two goals down from halftime to thump the Spanish side 3-2 at the Estadio de la Ceramica to book their place in the final on 5-2 aggregate.

Villarreal had taken a 2-0 lead in the first half only to concede three goals after the break thanks to some poor goalkeeping in the second half.
