Villarreal goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli had a night to forget in his side’s 3-2 loss to Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
Liverpool came back from two goals down from half time to thump the Spanish side 3-2 at the Estadio de la Ceramica to book their place in the final on 5-2 aggregate.
Villarreal had taken a 2-0 lead in the first half only to concede three goals after the break thanks to some poor goalkeeping in the second half.
He made two errors leading to goals in the game, helping Liverpool make the comeback and seal the win.
In doing so, Rulli has now made 5 errors leading to goals this season. This is the most committed by any goalkeeper across Europe’s top-5 leagues, the Champions League or Europa League.
Liverpool will now face either La Liga winners Real Madrid or current Premier League leaders Manchester City in the final on May 28 in Paris, France.
