Championship side, Bournemouth, have earned a promotion back to the Premier League after two years in the second-tier division.
Bournemouth sealed their promotion to the top-flight for the first time since the 2019/20 season after edging Nottingham Forest 1-0 on Tuesday night, May 3, to secure a second-place finish in the Championship.
An 83rd-minute goal from Kieffer Moore was the only difference in the epic clash staged at the Vitality Stadium as Scott Parker's men did enough to secure a vital win.
Bournemouth's journey back to the Premier League
The Cherries were relegated to the Championship after the 2019/20 campaign when they finished 18th on the Premier League table with 34 points.
Despite picking a crucial victory against Everton in their final match of the season, Aston Villa's draw in their own fixture meant Bournemouth stood no chance to survive.
The Vitality Stadium-based outfit attempted a return to the Premier League last season but missed out on a spot following their sixth-place finish.
However, after another season of waiting, they have confirmed their return to the top-flight under the tutelage of Parker who was appointed to the role last June.
Bournemouth now join Fulham who have also been promoted after they finished first on the Championship standings.
Norwich City relegated from the Premier League
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Norwich City have been relegated from the Premier League for a record sixth time after a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park.
That result, coupled with Burnley’s emphatic 2-1 win over Watford, meant the Canaries cannot mathematically climb out of the relegation zone.
