  • Orlando Pirates is rumoured to be on the verge of losing Ben Motshwari to arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs
  • Motshwari, who joined the Buccaneers in 2018 from Bidvest Wits, is nearing the end of his four-year contract with the club
  • Should the 31-year-old jump ship from Parktown to Naturena, he'll be one of many players to have the distinction of representing both the biggest teams in the country

Rumours both believable and otherwise are now the order of the day with the Premier Soccer League season coming to an end.

The latest is that of Orlando Pirates midfielder Ben Motshwari, who has been linked with a move to great rivals Kaizer Chiefs. The 31-year-old Motshwari joined the Buccaneers from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2018, and will be out-of-contract at the end of the season.

He has been on the periphery of the squad lately, which has fuelled the rumours that he is on the way out of the club, with The Citizen reporting that offers are coming in for him from far and wide.

A source from the club said to the publication:

“Listen, I don’t think Ben will be with the team next season,” said the source. His contract is ending at the end of the season and apparently he has been offered a huge deal by Kaizer Chiefs.
They want him and they are not the only team that wants him, that club from Durban (AmaZulu) also wants him. So, the way things are going, it’s all up to him.”

Former Black Stars and current hearts of Oak midfielder Sulley Muntari linked with Orlando Pirates move

In a transfer rumour to end all transfer rumours on the South African football scene, former Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari was linked with a move to Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.

As reported by Sports Brief, Muntari, a former Inter and AC Milan player, is currently on the books of Ghanaian Premier League giants Hearts of Oak.

Reports in Ghana media also suggested that Egyptian giants Al Ahly were looking at acquiring his services, despite Muntari turning 38 in August.
