FootballMohamed Salah Could Move to Spain or France As Liverpool Contract Extension Talks Stall
- Salah could look to move either to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Paris Saint Germain when his Liverpool contract comes to a close
- Liverpool haven’t made any significant strides in convincing their star forward to add an extension to his current deal that ends in 2023
- The Egyptian has in the past refused to comment publicly on his transfer negotiation talks with Liverpool, choosing to concentrate on Liverpool’s objectives first
Mohammed Salah is eyeing a potential move to either Spain or France as his Liverpool future hangs in the balance. The star forward is yet to agree on a contract extension, and it is now said he has started thinking of his next potential employers.
Salah's contract at Liverpool expires at the end of next season. Liverpool risk losing the attacker on a free transfer should they fail to convince him to stay.
The 'Egyptian King' has been in splendid form this season as the Reds continue with their charge towards a historic quadruple. Salah has scored 30 times in all competitions this season. He also leads the Golden Boot standings with 22 goals.
The 29-year-old was signed from AS Roma in 2017 and has grown to be one of the key players on Jurgen Klopp’s side. The Daily Express reports that he has not given any indication that he would like to extend his Anfield stay beyond 2023.
PSG a viable option for Salah
Salah has in the past refused to comment publicly on his contract talks. The attacker could be interested in making a switch to Barcelona, Real Madrid or Paris Saint Germain.
PSG could particularly be a more realistic target should they lose Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid. Lionel Messi could move to the centre and play as a false nine to accommodate Salah on the wing. The Ligue One giants won’t be afraid to dig deep to acquire one of the Premier League’s most coveted stars.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Salah is now facing stiff competition for the Golden Boot. Salah had raced ahead with some fine displays at the start of the season.
The goals have, however, dried up for former Chelsea winger, allowing his opponents to catch up with him as the season nears the finish line.
Heung-min Son and Cristiano Ronaldo are threatening to take the individual award from Salah’s grasp. The duo so far have 19 and 17 goals, respectively.
