Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane is never comfortable in the hot seat at the Egyptian giants.
Despite an impressive haul of trophies since joining the club back in September 2020, any missteps by Mosimane are scrutinised heavily and criticised excessively. This was the case this past weekend for the under-pressure coach.
Ahly legend Taha Ismail piled in on Mosimane yesterday after a poor performance by the Red Devils in a 1-1 draw against Ceramica Cleopatra. The draw meant that the Red Devils moved to 33 points on the Egyptian Premier League table, eight points behind Zamalek, though they do have three games in hand on their great rivals.

FootballThis did not wash with Ismail, who, according to KingFut, said:
“Al Ahly need to take a stand, there are many problems, not just wasting chances. The team is suffering on the physical level, the build-up is extremely slow, and the counterattacks are very slow as well.
“The performance is disappointing and it doesn’t show the club’s spirit.”
Mosimane responded:
“The problem isn’t the performance, it’s the fact that we are wasting a lot of chances, we created a lot of chances but we didn’t score. To me, a bad performance is not creating many chances.
“Also, good criticism is a source of motivation to me and my players. And if you’re worried about other people winning the league, don’t worry, we’ll beat those people.”
Pitso Mosimane has achieved much success with Al Ahly since joining the side in 2020, but not everyone seems to think so.

FootballAs reported by Sports Brief, the South African coach has faced his fair share of detractors during his stint at the Egyptian giants.
Former Al Ahly legend, Wael Gomaa, is the latest to share his thoughts on Pitso, believing that Al Ahly can do better without the Mosimane in charge.
