TS Galaxy and Orlando Pirates will collide in what will be a grudge match at the Mbombela Stadium this afternoon at 3pm inside the cauldron of the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

The Rockets and Mbombela were involved in an unpleasant DStv Premiership encounter last December that was marred by ugly scenes between Pirates security and Galaxy owner and chairman Tim Sukazi outside Orlando Stadium. The Buccaneers won that encounter 2-0.

Besides that grudge, there is also a lot to play for this afternoon. Galaxy is in 15th spot on 23 points, while Pirates sits on fourth with 40 points.

The Bucs can start applying pressure on upstarts Royal AM sitting in that position with 45 points with a win today.

Winning the Confederations Cup, by rules and regulations, does not mean Champions League qualification, so Pirates has no choice but to win.

As reported on Sports Brief, the Buccaneers were found guilty of the charges brought against them after ‘unreasonably’ denying TS Galaxy Chairman, Tim Sukazi, entry into the Orlando Stadium last year.

In a video that went viral, security officials outside the stadium could be seen manhandling Sukazi and preventing him from entering, despite him having accreditation.
