FootballSky Sports Pundit Graeme Souness Lauds Eddie Nketiah's Impact in Win Over West Ham
- Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness is full of praises for England-born Ghanaian forward Eddie Nketiah after his performance against West Ham
- Eddie Nketiah played a key role as he led the line in Arsenal’s 2-1 win over West Ham on Sunday afternoon
- Goals from Rob Holding and Gabriel were enough to give the Gunners their third successive win as they boost their top four hopes
Former England manager Graeme Souness has hailed Ghana target Eddie Nketiah following his superlative display against West Ham on Sunday.
Nketiah starred once again for Arsenal in their hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Hammers at London Stadium in the English Premier League.
The 22-year-old, who played the full duration of the game, was rated by many pundits as the best player despite not scoring or providing an assist in the match.
Nketiah was a lively presence and worked very hard for the team as Arsenal kept their top-four hopes alive against David Moyes' team.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Souness, who was impressed with Nktiah's performance, said:
'Arsenal looked a good team today. They found another yard today. Nketiah was the best player on the pitch today. I think in terms of West Ham, they didn’t carry a threat for me. The second Arsenal goal was so avoidable for me.'
'Nketiah has given them a new dimension. The amount of times he was running in behind Zouma. Lacazette doesn’t give you that.'
He [Nketiah] changed the game. He goes fine if you want to kick me I’ll kick you back. He’s put himself in the shop window and people will be looking to sign him this summer.'
How Arsenal defeated West Ham
Mikel Arteta's team took the lead in the 38th minute as Rob Holding rose highest to nod home a Bukayo Saka's corner. It was his first Premier League goal.
But the Hammers responded just before the break as Jarrod Bowen produced a smart finish past Aaron Ramsdale from Vladimir Coufal's cutback in the 45th minute.

FootballBoth teams went into the tunnel with nothing to separate them.
However, it was a day for Arsenal to rely on their defenders as Gabriel restored parity nine minutes into the second half.
Gabriel Martinelli's ball found Gabriel at the back post for the defender to head past Fabianski in the 54th minute.
Arsenal had more scoring chances to extend their lead but Nkietah was guilty of failing to convert them.
