Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru could be sidelined for the rest of the season after Vincent Kompany's latest update on the player.
Ashimeru was introduced into the second half of the Belgium Cup final against KAA Gent on Monday night, but he was withdrawn a few minutes later due to injury.
The former WAFA midfielder was expected to be back before the season ends but it appears the box-to-box midfielder is a facing lengthy absence on the sidelines.

FootballSpeaking ahead of their home against Club Brugge on Sunday, Kompany confirmed that the former Red Bull Salzberg ace will miss the rest of the campaign to the injury.
"I can already tell you that he will not be there and that we will even see if he is able to play during the playoffs," he said as quoted by FootballGhana.
"It's not an injury that will last in the long term. But in the short term, I don't know if he can perform well in the coming weeks," he added.
Majeed Ashimeru has been in fine form for the Purple and White, playing a key role in their rise to the top four in the Belgium league.
He has made a total of 31 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring three goals in the process.
