Manchester United’s chase for a Premier League top-four finish suffered a huge blow on Tuesday, April 19 as they endured an embarrassing defeat at the hands of Liverpool.

The Red Devils were completely annihilated at Anfield by an inspired Jurgen Klopp side who scored four unreplied goals to move to the top of the Premier League table.

According to a report via Sports Bible, Ralf Rangnick, after the loss, has now admitted Manchester United are six years behind their rivals.

"Jurgen came six years ago and if you compare the squad he inherited, he came after eight or nine games and finished eighth, this is roundabout where we are currently," the former RB Leipzig boss said after full time.
"He had a point average of that season of 1.6 but with every transfer window after that, they develop the kind of squad we have today."

Manchester United are guaranteed to have yet another trophyless campaign and must now turn their season around by finishing in the Champions League with just eight matchdays to go in the Premier League.

Gary Neville criticize Man United after Liverpool defeat

Meanwhile, former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville had no nice words for his former team after they were thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool.

According to the Daily Mail, Neville insists the Red Devils are fundamentally broken on and off the pitch after their disjointed play against the Reds at Anfield.

Eric Ten Hag is expected to take charge of Manchester United at the end of the season and Neville is of opinion that the Dutch manager has lots of work to do on the present team at Old Trafford.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Liverpool stormed to the top of the Premier League thanks to a comprehensive performance against a desperate Manchester United on Tuesday, April 19.

Mohammed Salah scored twice as the Reds thrashed their opponents 4-0 at Anfield in a game where United were lucky not to have conceded any more.

Despite the derby nature of the fixture, there was an embarrassing gulf in quality between the two teams as Liverpool showed their title credentials from early on.
