The Maroons continued to lead the Buccaneers by a solitary point after the latest round of matches.

Free-scoring Stellenbosch, for a surprising change, failed to score again in a 0-1 draw against SuperSport United. Pirates was poor again in a costly 2-3 loss against Mamelodi Sundowns, missing out on a win that would have put them back on top of the table.

With four matches left in the season, Stellenbosch sits on 52 points. Orlando Pirates is on 51 points, with goal difference likely to come into play should both teams finish the season level.

As reported by Sports Brief, Pirates and Stellenbosch FC are locked in a title race for the ages, separated by just a solitary point.

After 26 matches played each, the Maroons and the Buccaneers are on 52 and 51 points respectively.
