Napoli will face the full wrath of the law in Italy after the Italian Serie A club was dragged to court following new revelations about the transfer of Victor Osimhen from Lille.

The Pertenopei has been accused of inflating the transfer fee of Victor Osimhen when they bought him from French club Lille for €71.2 million in the summer of 2020.

According to a report via Blueprint, Napoli is accused of inflating Osimhen's transfer fee from Lille by a whopping €20 million.

The worth of four players sold to Lille by Napoli as part of the Osimhen transaction was inflated because their transfer was valued at €19.3 million, but the total cost of the players was just €470,000.

This has caught the attention of the Italian Football Association (FIGC), who has now taken Napoli to court to get clarification.

If the Naples club is found guilty, they stand a chance of getting a heavy points deduction or possibly be relegated from the Italian topflight.

Arsenal, Manchester United dealt a blow in pursuit of Victor Osimhen

Meanwhile, top English Premier League clubs have been told to look everywhere else but Napoli for a striker ahead of next season.

According to The Hard Tackle, Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed Napoli has no intention of selling Victor Osimhen, even for a transfer fee of £100 million.

Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle are three Premier League clubs believed to have been interested in signing the Nigerian striker when the summer window opens.

Osimhen officially receives Serie A Player of the Month Award

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has been officially presented with the Serie A Player of the Month of March award.

The 23-year-old received the award right after Napoli’s 2-3 loss at home to Fiorentina on Sunday and photos were posted via the Serie A official Twitter handle.

The Super Eagles striker found the back of the net four times in three league appearances last month to help his side continue their push for the title.
