Man United have reportedly launched a probe into an incident Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have smashed an Everton fan's phone following the Red Devils' 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park.

Footage captured by @EvertonHub and widely shared on social media shows an angry Ronaldo storming towards the tunnel before slapping the railings on his way out of the pitch.

A separate image later surfaced online which appeared to show the remains of a damaged mobile phone, with eyewitnesses claiming the five-time Ballon d'Or winner snatched it from a fan before he smashed it.

Cristiano Ronaldo under investigation

According to Sky Sports, Man United have already started investigations into the incident involving their starman.

While no official statement has been released by the club, United are understood to be well aware of the incident.

Ronaldo's angry outbursts came after a frustrating afternoon at Goodison Park that saw his side fall to Everton.

Anthony Gordon's first-half goal was the only difference during the tie as the Toffees secured a vital home win.

United's defeat left them languishing in seventh on the Premier League standings with 51 points, on level with sixth-placed West Ham.

Maguire appeals teammate's handball

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Harry Maguire was the talking point after Man United's defeat to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, April.

The United skipper was involved in a bizarre incident where he called the referee on his own teammate.

Maguire raised his arm in protestation after Nemanja Matic handled the ball in the first half of the encounter.

The defender's reaction left a number of fans in shock who took to social media to make fun of the Man United ace.
