FootballCalls Grow for Stuart Baxter to Be Fired, Amakhosi Coach Unsure of Reaction Team Will Receive When Fans Return
- Stuart Baxter is wary of the reception that he and Kaizer Chiefs will receive when fans return to stadiums
- Fans will return to stadiums to watch Kaizer Chiefs host SuperSport United in the DStv Premiership
- Kaizer Chiefs fans have once again called for Stuart Baxter to be fired or resign as coach of the Amakhosi
Kaizer Chiefs have a nine-day break until their next DStv Premiership fixture, and coach Stuart Baxter doesn’t know what to expect.
The Amakhosi will host SuperSport United on Saturday, 16 April, and it will be the first game that Kaizer Chiefs fans will be in attendance.
As reported by Sowetan LIVE, Baxter said that he cannot predict the reception he will receive from Amakhosi fans when they return to stadiums, but he was hopeful that it will be a peaceful, loving and supportive attitude.
“I believe we’ve got good fans. I believe we’ve got loyal fans and I can imagine they’re desperate to get in and try to be that extra player, that extra support to drive the players and get them over the line.
“That’s what I believe. [But] I’m not in their position.”
It is hard to imagine that being the case though. Fans have grown tired of Baxter and his management style, with calls growing for him to be sacked.
An online petition was even circulated recently, urging Amakhosi bosses to show Baxter the door. Those calls died down a bot after Chiefs beat Orlando Pirates in the Soweto Derby, but have since resumed following a loss to Golden Arrows and the goalless draw against TS Galaxy.
As reported by Goal.com, fans have once again called for Baxter to resign or be fired, and for Arthur Zwane to take control of the side.
With a few games remaining in the season, fans are hopeful that Chiefs can pip Royal AM to second spot, but don’t believe that they can do it with Baxter at the helm.

FootballKaizer Chiefs are still looking to secure a top-two finish in this season’s DStv Premiership and one man hoping to inspire that is Samir Nurković, Sports Brief earlier reported.
The Serbian has struggled for form this season after being hampered by injuries and has only played 10 games for the Amakhosi thus far.
With the season winding down, Nurković finally scored his first game for the club this season in the 3-1 win against Chippa United. The Serbian was said to be in a much better place since breaking the goal drought, IOL reported.
