Kaizer Chiefs are still looking to secure a top-two finish in this season’s DStv Premiership and one man hoping to inspire that is Samir Nurković.

With the season winding down, Nurković finally scored his first game for the club this season in the 3-1 win against Chippa United. The Serbian was said to be in a much better place since breaking the goal drought, IOL reported.

Nurković admitted that it was difficult finding his feet again after the injury layoff but wasn’t going to rest on his laurels.

Dedicated as he is to finding form once again, Nurković is also dedicated to leading Chiefs to a high finish this season. Kaizer Chiefs are currently in the third spot, one point behind Royal AM. The Amakhosi are chasing a top-two finish which will see them qualify for the CAF Champions League at the end of the season.

Should they qualify for the CAF Champions League, Nurković may not be around to see it. The Serbian’s contract expires at the club at the end of June and Chiefs are undecided about whether to offer him an extension, The South African reported.

Currently, Nurković has the option of signing a pre-contract with a new club during his remaining months or he can leave as a free agent at the end of the season.

Kaizer Chiefs are looking to offload a few players this season, as they look to rebuild. Two names on the list of impending departures at the Naturena are Leonardo Castro and Lazarous Kambole, KickOff reported.

Kaizer Chiefs returned to winning ways in the DStv Premiership as they overcame Chippa United 3-1. Samir Nurković, Keagan Dolly and Cole Alexander all got onto the scoresheet for the Amakhosi.

The two-week international break seemed to have benefitted the Amakhosi as they looked fresh and ready to renew their charge for second place in the DStv Premiership, Sports Brief earlier reported.

Kaizer Chiefs took the lead in the 23rd minute when Samir Nurković scored. The Serbian forward has been out of action recently but marked his return to the squad with a goal. The goal also happened to be his first goal of the season.
