FootballDesperate Premier League Club Warned Against Signing Man Utd Star Marcus Rashford Over Positional Issue
- Marcus Rashford is desperate to leave Manchester United after falling down the pecking order under Ralf Rangnick
- The 24-year-old has only managed five goals this season as he has spent most of the minutes on the bench
- Former Arsenal man Eduardo has told Mikel Arteta not to make Rashford an option, urging the manager to look elsewhere
Arsenal have been told not to make a move for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford as the 24-year-old is desperately seeking a way out of Old Trafford.
The Gunners have been told in practical terms to avoid signing the misfiring striker who has only managed just five goals for the Red Devils this season.
Rashford has been out of favour under Ralf Rangnick and even during the time of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he spent more time on the bench.
And former Arsenal star Eduardo has urged Mikel Arteta to look elsewhere as Arsenal continue their search for a new striker.
Eduardo told Ladbrokes via Daily Star:
"Marcus Rashford is one of the names who has been linked with Arsenal this summer. But is he the right player to come in and fill that role as a number nine? No.
"He doesn't play as a striker for Manchester United, so why would Arsenal bring him in if they need a striker? I don't know if he has the right capacity to come in and do the job Arsenal would need him to do.
"It's hard to say because sometimes bigger players come to Arsenal and things don't work out; look at Willian, David Luiz, and so on."
Paul Merson urges Arteta to sell Pepe
Meanwhile, former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has urged Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to sell Nicolas Pepe as soon as the summer transfer window opens.
According to the former Premier League star, the Gunners should endeavour to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace as they have made efforts to land him earlier.

FootballIt was gathered that Zaha would be willing to dump Palace if the Gunners approach him again as he earlier indicated his interest as well.
Merson says he believes Zaha would not stay at Palace forever as he thinks the forward will make a good impact at the Emirates Stadium.
Mass exodus looms at Real Madrid
Sports Brief earlier reported that there will be a mass exodus at the Spanish side Real Madrid as reports say a number of players, including Gareth Bale and Luka Jovic, will be waving bye to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Earlier in the season, manager Carlo Ancelotti disclosed that Bale’s contract will not be renewed when it expires at the end of this campaign.
The Welshman continues to struggle at the Spanish club having barely kicked the ball this season, but he netted a brace for Wales in their win over Austria during the recent international break.
