Paul Onauchu scored two penalties and a late third to hand Genk an emphatic 5-0 victory against KAS Eupen in the Belgian Jupiler league on Sunday, April 3.

It is the Super Eagles' striker's second hat trick of the season and moves Genk up on the league table to 8th.

According to a report via Soccernet, the win for Genk ended their three-game winless streak and kept their hopes alive to finish in the Belgian league play-offs.

Onauchu gave Genk the lead as early as the 10th minute when he cooly slotted in a penalty after Eupen had committed a foul in their 18-yard box.

The Super Eagles striker made it 2-0 before the break converting yet another penalty for the Belgian outfit.

Junya Ito and Bryan Heynen added two more goals for Genk before Onauchu completed the victory for the Blue-White.

The 27-year-old has now scored 19 goals for Genk in the 2021/22 season and is presently 3rd on the scorers' chart in the Jupiler league.

Genk could sell Onauchu in the summer

Meanwhile, Paul Onauchu's days in the Jupiler League might just be numbered following his impressing goal-scoring prowess in Belgium.

According to Football Live, Genk might be forced to sell the Super Eagles striker as he is subject to huge offers from top teams in Europe's major leagues.

The 27-year-old won the top scorer's award in the Jupiler League last season and has scored 19 goals in the present 2021/22 season to see his stock rise high.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Paul Onuachu nicknamed the Siege defender is 6 feet 7 inches tall (201 cm).

During his international debut with the Nigerian Super Eagles, his impressive height caught the attention of fans who likened him to legendary striker Rashidi Yekini, a Nigerian all-time goal scorer.

Currently playing in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League with Genk, Onuachu’s contract for the club was signed in 2019 and is expected to end in 2024.
