Ghanaian midfielder Salis Samed Abdul opened his scoring account in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.
The 22-year-old was on target for the first time this season but his side Clermont Foot suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Osman Bukari's Nantes.
However, the central midfielder was sent off for a bad tackle on Kalifa Coulibaly in the second half.
Nantes took the lead through Ludovic Blas' penalty but that was canceled out in the 58th-minute, courtesy of a strike from Saîf-Eddine Khaoui.
The away team were in front again four minutes later after Pedro Chirivella's cool finish.
Clermont Foot fought back to restore parity courtesy of a strike from Ghana's Salis Abdul Samed in the 63rd-minute.
Nine minutes later, Abdul Samed was shown a straight red card following a late tackle on Kalifa Coulibaly.
And Nantes made their numerical advantage count as Randal Kolo Muani scored the winning goal the 67th-minute.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars winger Osman Bukari was an unused substitute as Nantes recorded a thrilling 3-2 win against Clermont Foot in the Ligue 1 clash on Sunday afternoon.
Bukari has been on fine form for his French club this season, scoring one goal and creating three assists in 17 games in the French top division.
However, he was left out of their starting eleven by manager Antoine Kombouaré for their visit to the Stade Gabriel Montpied.
