The new era at AmaZulu under Brandon Truter kicks off today in the CAF Champions League.

AmaZulu beat Horoya AC at home

In the reverse fixture between the two sides, the Usuthu walked away 1-0 winners. Luvuyo Memela scored a stunning goal to give the home side the win.

Horoya AC are looking for revenge

As reported by SuperSport.com, Horoya AC are looking for some form of redemption when they host the South African side in Guinea. Horoya AC knows that a good win can at least see them replace AmaZulu in the third sport in the group.

Horoya AC squandered their chance to qualify when they were beaten by ES Setif in their previous game. Coach Lamine N'Diaye expressed his disappointment after the game with the team’s performance during the competition.

"The club has been playing in African competitions for ten years, it's not a problem of experience, it's simply a problem of talent and concentration."

AmaZulu’s mindset heading into their final game

AmaZulu will be hoping to end their debut season in the CAF Champions League on a high when they play Horoya AC in their final game. New coach, Brandon Truter, is hoping to turn things around at the club during his brief spell in charge.

“We have a very ambitious president and for the team to end it [the season] on a high note, we have to turn it around,” Truter said.

AmaZulu landed in Guinea yesterday and shared footage on their Twitter account of the team arriving and ready for their big game.

AmaZulu have bragging rights to play for

A win will see AmaZulu climb up to nine points, level with second-placed ES Setif. Sadly they have no chance of qualifying, as ES Setif beat them on the head to head, goal difference rule. Finishing third in their first season in the Champions League will be a big boost for the club though, as they seek to end their DStv Premiership run on a strong note as well.

"There's no way we would have secured a top 4 spot with Benni in charge": Sandile Zungu explains Benni's axing

AmaZulu Chairperson Sandile Zungu has never been afraid to speak his mind and he’s not starting now. After parting ways with the former coach, Benni McCarthy, Zungu explained that the reason for the dismissal was that the club needed change.

Zungu has since elaborated on his earlier statements, adding that the wheels came off this season, KickOff reported. Zungu added that they wanted to clinch a top-four spot in the DStv Premiership and that they needed change to salvage pride this year.

AmaZulu are currently in ninth place on the table with 29 points, six points behind Orlando Pirates in fourth. With still seven games to play, AmaZulu are not out of the running for a top-four finish, Sports Brief reported.
