Senegal are still celebrating their victory over Egypt in a World Cup qualifier, but the Pharaohs aren’t taking the defeat lying down.

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) originally filed a complaint with FIFA and CAF over the treatment they received from Senegalese fans, and are now planning to take it one step further.

As reported by KingFut.com, the EFA are planning to approach FIFA and request a rematch with the Senegalese side. The Egyptian side were unhappy with the treatment they received as their team bus was attacked by an angry mob and their players were racially abused by fans.

Players also had rocks and bottles thrown at them and had lasers shone in their faces during the penalty shootout. As reported by KickOff, EFA president Gamal Allam, confirmed that the Egyptians would be requesting a rematch.

“In Egypt, we treated Senegal well and they were protected since the moment they arrived.
“When we arrived in Senegal, we were insulted at the airport and we received bad treatment from the workers there and when we arrived at the stadium, the bus driver didn’t enter directly, he kept driving around for us to see the fans cursing at us and insulting us,” Allam said.

Allam added that the match was played in a terrible atmosphere and they would be speaking with FIFA President, Gianni Infantino.

He also noted that they had evidence of the lasers that were used, photos of the bus that was attacked, and the water bottles that were thrown at goalkeeper, Mohammed El Shenawy.

Egypt file an official complaint with FIFA, claim that bus was attacked and players were racially abused by fans

Following their defeat to Senegal last night in a World Cup qualifier, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has officially filed a complaint with FIFA regarding events that took place before, during and after the game.

Egypt were beaten 3-1 on penalties after the two sides were deadlocked after the two legs. While much news has been made of the lasers aimed at Egyptian players during the game and more notably during the penalty shootout, there were other controversial moments that the Egyptian FC has since brought to light.

As reported by Soccer Laduma, the Egyptian FA claimed that their team bus was attacked by a mob of Senegalese fans. They reported this to FIFA and CAF, claiming that injuries were sustained during the attack, Sports Brief earlier reported.
