Andre Onana has insisted that the impossible is not Cameroonian after the Indomitable Lions sealed qualification to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Cameroon needed to win away from home to book a place in Qatar after losing the first leg tie 1-0 at home to the Algerians.

The Indomitable Lions will however wait until the final kick of the game to break the Algerians as Toko Ekambi's 120th-minute strike sealed a 2-1 win for Cameroon.

Andre Onana, who played a crucial role in ensuring the Lions qualified for the World Cup has now stated that they will defend Cameroon at the World Cup.

"Dreams come true. We will defend our country at the #WorldCup in Qatar. Lions never give up, until the last breath there is hope. Impossible is not Cameroonian."

Cameroon joins Morocco, Ghana, Senegal, and Tunisia as Africa's five representatives to the FIFA World Cup after the conclusion of the qualifiers.

Fans celebrate in Cameroon after World Cup qualification

Meanwhile, the streets of Cameroon were filled with jubilant fans who turned out in their numbers to celebrate the Indomitable Lions World Cup qualification.

According to Africa News, fans went over the moon in Douala taking to the streets, pumping fists in the air, and blowing car horns.

Cameroon will be aiming to better their previous record of reaching the quarter-finals in 1990 when the 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off in November.

Andre Onana involved in car crash on way to Cameroon camp

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Andre Onana who is a Cameroonian goalkeeper currently playing for Ajax has crashed his car on his way to the national team camp for the World Cup final play-off against Algeria.

The experienced goalkeeper was said to be travelling from the capital city Yaounde to his country’s training camp in Douala when the accident happened.

However, the 25-year-old was said to have escaped unhurt after his jeep had a collision with another car in a serious crash.
