Trouble for Zidane as Real Madrid Star Wanted by Chelsea, Man United Refuses to Commit Future
- Lucas Vazquez may be leaving Spanish side Real Madrid this summer
- Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in his signature
- Vazquez has won the Champions League four times with Los Blancos
Despite their Champions League quarterfinal first leg win over Liverpool, Spanish footballer Lucas Vazquez has refused to commit his future to the reigning champions of Spain.
His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu will expire at the end of the ongoing League season and has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United.
The 29-year-old has been playing for Real Madrid since 2015 and has won the Champions League and League titles with Los Blancos under Zinedine Zidane.
Vazquez was at his best in the Champions League game against Liverpool as he gave Senegalese striker Sadio Mane tough time on the pitch.
According to the report on UK Sun, Lucas Vazquez explained after the win over Liverpool that he is only focusing on the present.
"Now what I focus on is the present.
"I am enjoying this year with minutes, I feel comfortable playing and that is what makes me happy.
"I was always from Madrid and I will always be from Madrid."
Since September 2015, Lucas Vazquez has played 239 games for Real Madrid in all competitions and has netted 26 goals for Los Blancos.
Zidane and his wards are currently occupying third position on the Spanish La Liga table with 63 points after 29 games played so far.
He is expected to travel with Real Madrid squad to Anfield for the Champions League quarterfinal return leg.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Jurgen Klopp who is the gaffer of reigning Premier League champions Liverpool blamed the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano stadium for his side's defeat against Real Madrid in Spain.
Liverpool who are known to be an excellent side in the Champions League suffered a 3-1 defeat in the first leg of their quarterfinal clash against the Spanish champions.
As things stand presently in the Premier League, Liverpool can no longer defend their title as Manchester City are favorites to be crowned champions.
But they are also on leg out of the Champions League following their defeat against Real Madrid although Mohamed Salah's away goal gave them hope.
Jurgen Klopp and his men will only need to beat Real Madrid 2-0 at Anfield for them to get qualification into the semifinal.
