Former Harambee Stars coach Sebastian Migne is among the 10 applicants who is hoping to be appointed the new head coach of the Rwanda national team.
The Rwandan FA is on the hunt for a new tactician after it was revealed that Vincent Mashami’s contract would not be renewed.
Mashami has been Rwanda’s head coach for the last four years, in a spell where he led the country to the 2020 CHAN quarter-finals.
Other candidates interested in the job include Nigerian legend, Sunday Oliseh, former Egypt national team boss, Hossam Mohamed El Badry, Tony Hernandez, Gabriel Alejandro Burstein, Hossam Mohamed El Badry, Ivan Hasek, Arena Guglielmo and Stephane Constantine Noel Tossi.
"At a time when FIFA's national team schedule is scheduled, there are no scheduled matches @AmavubiStars at the moment, but FERWAFA is in talks with the candidates for the national team coaching position. the new coach and his co-workers,” the FERWAFA said in a statement on Wednesday, March 23.
Migne’s application came barely a month after he joined the Cameroon National team as an assistant coach to legend, Rigobert Song.
Despite being in the running for a head coach role, Migne took to social media to maintain that he was fully focused on Cameroon’s upcoming World Cup qualifier against Algeria on Friday, March 25.
“Let's go for this very exciting new challenge! Present in Cameroon for 2 weeks, the training before this highly anticipated double confrontation began on Monday. Concentration and a single goal: qualification! Friday the Doula stadium will be the scene of a sold-out match,” he shared on his social media.

The 49-year old was in charge of Harambee Stars from 2018 to 2019 in a period where he guided the Kenyan national team to the Africa Cup of Nations.
He was however unable to lead the Stars past the group stage.
