French-born Ghanaian center-back, Alexander Djiku has stated his readiness for the Black Stars' big game against Nigeria.

The West African football powerhouses renew their rivalry this week, with a place at the FIFA World Cup later this year at stake.

In a post on Twitter, the Strasbourg defender stated the team is ready for the games on Friday and Tuesday.

"We are ready," he wrote with a photo of himself in serious mood.

Alexander Djiku has been one of Ghana's most impressive players in recent times, winning the hearts of Ghanaians with his never say die attitude.

The Black Stars are in Kumasi preparing for the first leg of their game against the Super Eagles, as they hope to make a return to the World Cup.

Ghana missed the 2014 edition in Russia.

France-based defender Alexander Djiku confirms Black Stars invite

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace center-back, Alexander Djiku is heading to Ghana for the World Cup play-off against Nigeria.

The Black Stars defender confirmed his invite after posting on social media his next move after Strasbourg game against Lorient.

The 27-year-old produced a strong defensive display as Strasbourg kept a clean sheet on the road against Lorient in Ligue 1.

Black Stars arrive in Kumasi ahead of Nigeria clash

The senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars, held their first training session in Kumasi ahead of their gigantic World Cup play-off against Nigeria.

The team led by coach Otto Addo arrived in Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon and wasted no time training a few hours later as preparations continue for the big game.

In photos posted on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the players took to Baba Yara Stadium for the first time in five years, with their last appearance at the stadium coming against Congo on September 1, 2017.
