Head coach of the Egyptian national team, Carlos Queiroz has sent an encouraging message to his players ahead of their World Cup play-off against Senegal.
The Portuguese trainer is hoping his team will bounce back from the disappointment of losing in the AFCON final to the same opponent.
Egypt will host the reigning African champions in the first leg of their double-header at the Cairo International Stadium on Friday, March 25, 2022.
“Time to deliver. Took us a long and hard road to reach this deserved opportunity,” Queiroz wrote on Twitter.
“We know certainly the challenge we face here. There is no room for sorrys or tomorrows.
“With courage, team intelligent work and pride we can fly and nothing is impossible. Once we have to do it, let’s do it with Stylish and Bravery, and make the ‘nothings’ possible.
“We count and trust on you Good luck, Lads.”
Egypt will be hoping to revenge the final defeat by qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
Both teams were at the World Cup in Russia four years ago, but one will miss the tournament this time around.
Egypt name squad to face Senegal
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that seven times African champions Egypt have named their squad for the World Cup play-off against Senegal next week.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz released his team for the double header on Saturday, and will be missing eight players from the Africa Cup of Nations.
