  • Ghana winger Tariq Fosu featured in his first Premier League game for Brentford FC against Leicester City FC on Sunday
  • The 26-year-old was introduced in the second half substitute for the Bees in their 2-1 away defeat at the King Power stadium
  • Fosu had missed most part of the 2021/22 English Premier League season due to a knee injury

Tariq Fosu made his English Premier League debut on Sunday by coming off the bench as a late substitute Brentford City on Sunday.

Brentford suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Leicester City thanks to brilliant strikes form James Maddison and Timoty Castagne.

Fosu came off the Bees bench on the 74th minute mark to take the place of English defender Rico Henry at the King Power Stadium.

The enterprising winger has only appeared twice for Brentford this season, both times in the EFL Cup in October last year.

But he was ruled out of action after he sustained an injury which has kept him out of football for close to five months.

How Fosu Fared Against Leicester City

In his 16-minute cameo for Brentford, Tariq Fosu had ten touches, won three duels, and delivered one accurate cross with a rating of 6.8, as per Sofascore.

Fosu will be hoping to impress manager Thomas Frank during first-team training in order to cement his spot in the team.

He's likely be in Brentford’s matchday squad when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face European champions Chelsea next weekend.

Daniel Amartey Puts in Defensive Masterclass in Leicester Win

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana and Leicester City centre half Daniel Amartey was in inspired form as Leicester City continue their resurgence with a vital win against Brentford.

The 27-year-old defender has been in a rich vein of form lately and was in beast mode once again for the Foxes as they defeated Brentford 2-1 at the King Power Stadium.

He is expected to join his Black Stars teammates on Monday when the four-time African champions begin camping for their all-important World Cup play-offs against Nigeria.
