The Ghana Football Association's ambitions of getting players born in England to play for the Black Stars seems to be gradually fading away.
Six players with Ghanaian heritage have earned invites to the youth national teams of England ahead of the international break.
Notable names Tarip Lamptey and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi were handed call ups to the U20 and U21 teams of England respectively, making their future with the Black Stars uncertain.
Starlets Roi Kyeremanteng and Kobbie Mainoo will be with the English U17 team for the Euro qualifiers against France and Luxemburg next week.
And at the U18 level, Manchester City's Darko Gyabi will line up against Sweden and Denmark in Spain later this month.
Liverpool's Jarrell Quansah is in the U19 team while Premier League II best player for the month of February, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi joins the U20 team. The England U19 team will play Armenia, Portugal and Republic of Ireland .
Brighton and Hove Albion defender, Tariq Lamptey, a long time target of the Black Stars makes a return to the England U21 team after recovering from injury. He is expected to play a key role in the games against Andorra and Albania.
His invitations dents hopes of Ghana getting them into the national team immediately, but there is still hope for the future.
Promising Ghanaian forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi earns England call up
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has earned a call-up to the England Under-20 for their fixtures against Poland and Germany later this month.
