He stayed at Roma since he was a young boy and refused to sign for Milan when he was 13 for the love of his home club. He was well known for his flair and elegance when holding the ball. He was also an elite playmaker contributing to his team's success. Unfortunately, he never played for the Italian National team. He played for the team from 1972 to 1984.

He spent more than 13 seasons with the club, helping them win titles as the club captain. He was known for being a solid defender with elegance and versatility.
