FootballSiyanda Xulu Trains With AmaZulu, Benni McCarthy Urges Owner Sandile Zungu To Monitor the Free Agent

- Benni McCarthy has been a long time admirer of the player and allowed him to train with the squad
- Benni McCarthy urged Sandile Zungu to monitor the player as he made a great addition to the team
Free-agent Siyanda Xulu is making sure he trains and stays fit after he was called up for the Bafana squad to take on Guinea and France next week.
Xulu became a free agent after his contract with Israel’s Hapoel Tel Aviv was mutually terminated at the end of February. His agent confirmed that the player had reached an agreement with management to leave the club four months before his contract was due to expire.
However, there were many conflicting reports at the time as to why Xulu had left Hapoel Tel Aviv, Goal.com reported.
“Our defender Siyanda Xulu did something that should not be done. His return to the club is not at all on the agenda. His career at Hapoel Tel Aviv is finished,” Hapoel Tel Aviv owner Itzik Nisanov said at the time of the matter.
Xulu returned to South Africa and has recently been training with DStv Premiership side, AmaZulu, as he looks to stay fit. Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, was originally concerned that the player would be unable to stay fit as a free agent and would therefore need to be dropped from the Bafana squad, Soccer Laduma reported.
AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy has long been an admirer of the former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns player and was happy to allow the player to train with the squad.
McCarthy has since spoken about the difference Xulu has made during training sessions, despite not being a part of the squad, iDiski Times reported.

McCarthy also urged Amazulu owner, Sandile Zungu, to keep an eye on the player as he would make a great addition to the team.
Bafana coach Hugo Broos announces squad for March friendlies against France and Guinea in Europe
The South African football public found out who will do duty for Bafana Bafana for two demanding international friendlies that will take place at the end of this month, Sports Brief earlier announced.
South Africa will take on world champions France and Guinea in fixtures pencilled to take place in Europe. They take on Guinea on the 25th of March in Belgium and the Les Bleus on the 29th in the French city of Lille.
The only players based abroad in the squad are Fagrie Lakay (Egypt), Percy Tau (Egypt), Lyle Foster (Belgium) and Bongokuhle Hlongwane (United States of America). Siyanda Xulu had recently parted ways with the Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv and is now unattached.
