Harry Kane hit a unique milestone in the Premier League with his goal against Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday, March 16.

Antonio Conte’s side reignited their European ambitions thanks to a routine 2-0 win against an out-of-form Brighton side, with Kane getting his side’s second of the day.

The England striker latched onto a beautiful through ball from Rodrigo Bentancur to strike home a low ball after Cristian Romero’s opener in the first half.

With his goal, Kane became the player with the most away goals in Premier League history, surpassing a feat previously held by Wayne Rooney.

The 28-year old’s away goal tally now stands at 95 in 139 appearances, which is quite impressive considering the fact that he reached the milestone in 104 fewer games than Rooney, who needed 243 appearances to reach 94 away goals.

His strike against Brighton also saw him overtake Frank Lampard in the all-time list of Premier League goal scorers.

Kane has a total of 178 Premier League goals (both home and away), compared to Frank Lampard’s 177.

Premier League’s all-time goal scorers

In terms of being at the top of the all-time goal-scoring charts, Kane still has some way to go, as that record is currently being held by Alan Shearer, a Newcastle legend who managed a staggering 260 goals in his Premier League career.

This is followed by Wayne Rooney, who scored 208 Premier League goals in 491 appearances in his time in the English top flight.

Andy Cole comes in third in the all-time goalscorers list with 187 goals and is followed by Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero, who managed 184 goals in his decade-long spell with the Citizens.

Kane is fifth on the list with 178 goals, and he will certainly get more in future.

Troubled Chelsea ease past Lille

In the other match on Wednesday, Chelsea overcame Lille to advance to the Champions League quarter-finals.

Lille had given themselves a chance of salvaging the tie following their 2-0 defeat in the first leg at Stamford Bridge last month, but Christian Pulisic equalised on the night in first-half stoppage time and captain Azpilicueta got the winner in the 71st minute.

The reigning Ligue 1 champions go out, and following Paris Saint-Germain's stunning exit last week it means there will be no French club in Friday's draw for the Champions League quarter-finals.
