Afcon 2019: We can only get to the top if Kenyans support us - Harambee Stars coach Migne

As the Kenya national football team prepares for their friendly fixture against the Democratic Republic of Congo, head coach Sebastien Migne has called on Kenyans to rally behind the squad.

Harambee Stars in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nation finals (Afcon), will face DRC at the Estadio de Santa Ana in Madrid, Spain on Saturday, June 15, at 8pm East African Time (EAT).

Migne urged fans to create a positive vibe around the team ahead of the continental showpiece, as Kenya make a grand return to the Africa Cup after 15 years of absence.

"Don't forget where we were one year ago. The players have achieved something fantastic (Afcon qualification).

"We are not a high-level team, we are on the way, and we can only get to the top if Kenyans support us," the Frenchman said according to Football Kenya Federation.

The team is well into week two of its three-week training programme at the French Rugby Federation in Paris, France.

"My dream for Kenya is our dream as a team and a dream for all the stakeholders. I ask the fans to continue supporting us," Migne concluded.

Kenya will jet out to Madrid on Saturday for the fixture before flying back to France on sunday, three days before heading to Cairo on June 19 in time for for the finals set to kick off on June 21.
