Andre Ayew's career started in France in 2007, when he joined Olympique Marseille as a teenage, to continue from where his father, Abedi Pele, left off at the club.
The Ghana international enjoyed good moments as well as bad times at the French giants, but there was one game that he would love to forget.
On August 17, 2014, the now Ghana captain had to be subbed after 52 minutes of Marseille's game against Montpellier because there was no spare jersey for the forward.
Andre Ayew had been injured earlier in the game with blood staining his shirt and the referee had to order the club to replace the jersey.
After half-time, when Ayew was returning from the break, it was visible on his jersey that the blood was still dropping.
A Marseille official tried intervening by using someone else's jersey for the Ghanaian, but the rule stated that a spare jersey should have the name and number of the player.
After minutes of arguing between the referees and officials of Marseille, then led by Marcelo Bielsa, Ayew had to be replaced in the 52nd minute.
Former West Ham star Dimitri Payet was the man who replaced Andre Ayew in that game.
Marseille ended up losing the match 2-0 to Montpellier at the Stade Velodrome.
