Bafana Bafana players Percy Tau and Fagrie lakay faced off in an Egyptian Premier League match at the Cairo International Stadium last night.

The Red Devils were looking to extend an unbeaten run. That they they duly did, running out 3-0 winners.

As detailed by Soccer Laduma, Mosimane's men fired the first shot, which turned out to be a warning, as Mohamed Hamdy's shot flew just over the crossbar.

The visitors did not take long to respond, as Adel's quality corner was headed just over the posts by Ali Gabr.

Adel was back to terrorising the Ahly defenders, going on a mazy run that resulted in his shot rattling the upright.

Ominously, Adel missed again just before halftime when he met another corner with his head that went over, which suggest that it was just not be Pyramids' night.

As these things typically go, Mosimane's charges then obliged this good fortune when they took the lead two minutes after the break when Mohamed Magdy found the back of the net from an assist by Fathi.

The visitors came close to equalising twice shortly before the hour mark when Al-Saeed's effort hit the post and then Lakay's powerful strike was bravely blocked by the big figure of Ahly goalkeeper Mohammed El-Shenawy.

Lakay almost put his name on the scoresheet in the 75th minute when his shot was blocked by Shenawy, rebounding back to him, but he put it over the bar.

The missed chances would come back to haunt the Pyramids as Ahly put the game to bed through El-Solia in the 86th minute and Mohamed Sherif deep in stoppage time to send Mosimane's charges two points above the Pyramids and into first position with a game in hand.

South Africa’s Fagrie Lakay joins Egypt’s Pyramid FC, Cape Town City sign Darwin Gonzalez as a replacement

Cape Town City’s Fagrie Lakay is heading off to Egypt to play for Pyramid FC.

As reported on Sports Brief, the Egyptian club and Cape Town City finalised the deal on deadline day after a week of negotiations. Fagrie will became the second South African in Egypt after Percy Tau joined Pitso Mosimane at Al Ahly.

Pyramids FC is a title rival to Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly so Lakay will play against his fellow countrymen at some stage.
