Ghana to Launch eTicketing Service Ahead of World Cup Showdown With Nigeria

The government of Ghana is set to operationalise the e-ticketing service in the country's impending FIFA World Cup final eliminator against Nigeria.

The digitalization agenda which is being driven by Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has been successfully implemented across various sectors of Ghana's economy with the football sector about to have its fair share of the digitalization cake.

In a post on Twitter, sighted by Sports Brief, the National Sports Authority - custodians of state-owned sports facilities - were undergoing a workshop before the e-ticketing service is fully launched.

"The Vice President H.E. Dr Mahamadu Bawumia-assisted eTicketing training workshop to onboard National Sports Authority on government's digitization project is currently underway in the Accra Sports Stadium." the NSA tweeted.
"The service will be launched by the Vice President during the forthcoming match between Ghana and Nigeria in Cape Coast. Management and staff of NSA are participating in their numbers to ensure smooth implementation of the policy across the country in all our state-owned sporting facilities."

According to the post, the service will be used for the first time when the Black Stars of Ghana host their Nigerian counterparts in a fortnight at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25.

Ghana's vice president reveals exciting plans to digitalise football sector

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that the football sector is set to witness its fair share of the ongoing digitalisation initiatives by the current government, according to the vice president of Ghana Dr Mahamadu Bawumia.

The government of the day have implemented various digitalisation initiatives across numerous sectors of the economy in a bid to introduce modernity, enhance accessibility and efficiency in their line of duty.

Owing to the long queues during matchdays, the vice president has identified a pressing need in the football sector which needs to be addressed within the shortest possible time.
