Serie A giants Napoli have expressed interest in Ghanaian and Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu, it has emerged.
The 22-year-old has been in scintillating form for the Saints in the ongoing campaign, playing a key role in their rise on the English Premier League table.
According to Correre dello Sport, Napoli have targeted the center back as a potential signing in the summer transfer window.
Salisu joined the Saints for a fee of just over £10million from Spanish side Real Valladolid in August 2020, with his value skyrocketing since then.
The defender has made 57 tackles and he is ranked 7th on the chat of players with the most tackles.
The center back is yet to make his international debut with the Black Stars of Ghana, and he is expected to accept an invite for the game against Nigeria.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Communications Director for the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum has revealed Black Stars gaffer Otto Addo is in touch with Mohammed Salisu ahead of the all-important clash with Nigeria.
Ahead of the game, many players have been mooted to be named in the final squad for the cliffhanger.
Henry Asante, the official spokesperson of the football federation, revealed Otto Addo wants to assemble the best set of players for the national assignment which includes Salisu.
