SuperSport United’s star midfielder, Sipho Mbule, could be soon making a permanent return to the first-team setup.
The 23-year-old has not played this year for SuperSport United, after trying to force a move away from the Pretoria based club.
Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs were both linked with the player but his attempts to leave Matsatsantsa in the January transfer window failed.
Mbule never featured again for the club until last week Saturday when he came on for the last six minutes against Amazulu. Mbule’s situation was thought to be very similar to that of Amazulu’s Siyethemba Sithebe, who was punished for agreeing to join Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the season.
The Sowetan LIVE has now reported, though, that Mbule has been impressing management during training and could feature in this weekend’s Nedbank Cup game against Platinum City Rovers.
The publication also noted that Mbule’s attitude had changed a lot, earning him a place back in the team.
SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo told Soccer Laduma that the club was now working hard to get the midfielder back into shape and playing again.
"Sipho has been doing very well in training, he's been working very hard. We've been very supportive of him because we feel that he's a talented youngster,” Tembo said.
“His response has been very good, his attitude in training has been very good. He's just lacking a bit in terms of match fitness. But that will only come with him playing, he added.

The Supersport United midfielder has been heavily linked with both Chiefs and Sundowns, but the player is reported to be following Teboho Mokoena in leaving Supersport for Sundowns, Sports Brief reported.
Now Soccer Laduma has reported that the player’s move to Sundowns is as good as done. The publication spoke to an agent who confirmed that Mbule would be heading to Masandawana at the end of the season when his contract expires.
