Reports have it that all of the UK assets owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich have been frozen as the entrepreneur faces heavy sanction.
The Chelsea Football Club owner was named among the key enablers of Vladimir Putin’s government following Russia’s war on Ukraine.
A statement by the UK government on Thursday says he has been prohibited from transactions with UK individuals and businesses.
Abramovich was named among seven oligarchs and politicians to be added to the UK's sanctions list.
In a statement Thursday, the UK government said Abramovich has had "his assets frozen, a prohibition on transactions with UK individuals and businesses, a travel ban and transport sanctions imposed."
The sanctions are estimated to be worth close to $20 billion (£15 billion), the UK government said.
Confirming the news, Chief Sports reporter for the Times tweeted:
“Roman Abramovich sanctioned. All UK assets frozen. Chelsea can still operate under a special licence but sale now on hold. Club will not be allowed to sell any more tickets - only season ticket holders can go to games for the foreseeable future.”

Meanwhile, Nick Candy who is a British property developer has reportedly appeared to be working on submitting a massive £2.5billion bid to buy Premier League giants Chelsea this week.
It is no longer news that outgoing owner Roman Abramovich is desperate to sell the club due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine which has claimed the lives of many people.

The 45-year-old made this declaration and added that he will make efforts to sign multiple Ballon d’Or winners Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Current owner Roman Abramovich has put the club up for sale as the Russian billionaire is asking for £3billion for the Champions League holders.
