The DStv Diski Challenge title race is going down to the wire.
Orlando Pirates, which had led the log table comfortably all season, saw themselves fall into second place after a dreadful run of form lately. Stellenbosch Football Club replaced them at the top, though it was in an unsatisfactory manner as they couldn't pressurise Pirates by opening a gap.
Pirates was thumped 3-1 by Amazulu, staying on 43 points but now in second spot. Tebogo Masuku and Lindani Shange (brace) scored for Usuthu, while Pirates' consolation goal was scored by Nkosinathi Temba.

FootballStellenbosch FC wasted the golden opportunity of opening a two-point lead at the top when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Golden Arrows. However, after all, the draw was not a bad result, as they moved to the top for the first time this season on superior goal difference to Pirates.
Kaizer Chiefs, meanwhile, completed the perfect weekend as their senior team defeated their Soweto arch-rivals, while the juniors also collected maximum points. Goals from Thijs Jansen and Mfundo Vilakazi saw them edge TS Galaxy 2-1.
Chippa United saw off Marumo Gallants by the same scoreline. Asanele Bonani and Kamohelo Hoala scored for the Chilli Boys, while Olwethu Makhanya pulled one back for Gallants.
Mamelodi Sundowns indifferent season continued this past weekend. They were on the wrong side of an eight-goal thriller, losing 5-3 to Baroka FC.
Swallows FC and SuperSport United were involved in an entertaining draw. The sides had to settle for a point each after drawing 2-2.

With nine rounds of matches remaining, seven teams in the National First Division, or the GladAfrica Championship can conceivably win the title and automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership.
As reported on Sports Brief, log leaders Richards Bay kept their noses in front on 38 points, three points ahead of the nearest chaser Polokwane City.
Both teams had to settle for a point in a tense 0-0 draw in a top-of-the table clash.
