Napoli star Victor Osimhen has reportedly emerged as Man United's top transfer target to replace the ageing Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has been struggling for form since the turn of the new year, with the Portuguese scoring only once.
The Portuguese talisman made a stunning return to the Theatre of Dreams from Juventus in the summer but has largely failed to live up to his billing.
Man United plan to replace Ronaldo
The Red Devils are now said to have laid an elaborate plan to find a replacement for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
According to Football Italia citing Rai Sport, United have set their sights on Napoli ace Osimhen.
The publication claims United have already made preliminary contact with the Italian side and the player’s representatives over Osimhen's transfer.
However, is understood the Manchester club will have to fork out as much as €100m to stand any chance of securing the services of the 22-year-old.
Meanwhile, Napoli are reportedly keeping tabs on Sassuolo‘s Gianluca Scamacca to replace Osimhen should the Nigerian international depart this summer.
Scamacca, who turns out for Italy internationally has also courted interest from Italian giants Inter Milan and AC Milan.
Ronaldo flies Georgina to Madrid
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Man United striker Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez spent part of the weekend in Madrid.
The couple took the trip to Madrid just hours after United's disappointing draw with Watford at Old Trafford in a result that saw the Red Devils squandered a chance to cement their place in the top four.
Ronaldo is understood to have treated Georgina to a sumptuous dinner at the ultra-exclusive Filandon restaurant during the Madrid trip.
